The audition process is simple and free-of-charge. Singers simply submit a 32-bar video cut from a pre-1970 American popular song not found in the Singer's Musical Theater Anthology for their voice type. We'd love it if you could please pass this PDF along to your students and hang it up in your building! The audition submission portal will open on our website (theamericanpops.org) on September 26. In addition to thousands of dollars in cash prizes, NextGen winners will receive real-world, professional opportunities. All winners receive multiple paid performance opportunities with our orchestra. Past winners have performed in our mainstage shows, educational outreach programs, and nationally-televised PBS specials alongside incredible singers like Amber Riley, Ariana DeBose, Stephanie Hsu, and more! Ten selected finalists will receive an all-expense-paid trip to perform with our musicians in the live finals.
