This series invites figures from arts, culture, academia, politics, and more to use opera as a prism to examine and candidly discuss modern day issues. Musician, content creator, and media personality Garrett McQueen will lead a conversation that will unpack the story of CARMEN, its draw as a story to be told in multiple genres, and the issues of gender and relationships intrinsic to the opera. McQueen will be in conversation with Lady Jess, a violinist and arts leader who has played with everyone from the LA Phil to Beyoncé, and the panel will feature a performance from the opera by WNO Cafritz Young Artist Rehanna Thelwell.
