Charlottesville Opera Chorus members are crucial parts of every season! This season, our shows are Guys and Dolls and Tosca. You can elect to be considered for one or both shows. The season begins on June 4 for Guys and Dolls and June 27 for Tosca. Rehearsals are typically held weekday evenings from 6PM-9PM and Saturday's from 10AM-12:30PM and 1:30PM-4:30PM during the season. (This schedule is subject to change.) Additional pre-season rehearsals will be held in April of 2023. All choristers are required to attend rehearsals during dress week. *Please note the final dress rehearsals begin at 2PM on a Wednesday. Adult Singers All adult singers auditioning for Guys and Dolls must complete a group choreography audition. Dance experience is not required. Movement experience is a plus! Choreography auditions will be held from 3:30PM - 4:30PM. Child Singers Child singers are those aged 15 and under as of the date of the audition. Child Singers will be auditioning for a part in the children's chorus of Tosca. There is not a children's chorus in Guys and Dolls. Child actors are needed to appear in non speaking, non singing positions in the show. All Performers are required to be vaccinated for COVID-19, a minimum of two weeks prior to the rehearsal period (no later than May 20, 2023).
