- The Cabaret at Germano's in Little Italy: A
Woman Is a Sondheim Thing--an intriguing look at Stephen
Sondheim and the women in his life both on and off the stage.
Starring singer Carolyn Black-Sotir, pianist Tim McReynolds, and
bassist Tom Baldwin, with a special guest appearance by Broadway
diva Shannon Wollman. The Cabaret at Germano's,
Baltimore's newest music venue and premier cabaret, features
performers from the worlds of theatre, popular song, jazz,
classical music and opera. They are booked through the end of
2008 and are beginning to book shows for 2009. So, if you or one
of your students has a cabaret show you would like to present,

- Crittenden Opera Workshop: Auditions will be
held on September 13 at the Chevy chase United Methodist church
for the Crittenden opera workshop and performing Practices
classes held this Fall semester. Classes begin on September
19th. To schedule an audition or for more information, contact

There are two classes.
1) The Friday Evening Performing Practices Classes held from
7:00 pm to 10::00 pm focuses on performance practices for
auditions, operas, recitals, concerts, competitions and church
music. Each singer works on whatever music is being studied in
their other activities so that any eventual performance will be
effective, meaningful, strong and profound. A video camera is
used so that the singer can see exactly how he or she appears to
an audience and allows the singer to work on specifics at home.
Length of class: 10 sessions cost: $410.00.
2) The Opera workshop meets on Saturday mornings from 9:00 -
1:00 Continue building your acting craft so that when you are in
an opera you will be professional in your performance skills.
Dig deeper into your characters, make your body more expressive,
discover subtle subtextual details that raise your performances
to higher levels. Two public performances are the culmination of
the class. Length of class: September 20 to January 24
